Hi. I'm Jacki, owner and CEO of JackiCan. I create fresh fruit jams using the old-time water bath canning process. Canning came out of a desire to pay homage to my mother who was born in a small town in Georgia. She loved a sweet peach. So, my first creation was peach jam. I gave away jars for Thanksgiving and Christmas and received many kudos from family, friends and church members-- especially those who grew up in the South-- who remember watching their parents or grandparents 'can' their garden fruits and vegetables; and the staff at my dentist's office who continue to encourage me. Hence, the beginning of JackiCan. Yes I Can.
Much has happened to JackiCan in the last year. First, my Peach Jam placed Number #1 at the 2019 DC State Fair, my Strawberry Jam placed Number #3. Second, I was selected to sell my jams at the historical DC Eastern Market on Capitol Hill. Third, (AND THIS IS BIG!) JackiCan became the first Cottage Food business to operate out of SE, DC! Now, I can sell JackiCan Jams directly to you, online (DC residents only), and at special events.

My aim is to have a jar of JackiCan's jam at every DC breakfast table! OK, every breakfast table in America!

JackiCan creates small batches of jams using the old-time water bath canning process. (Scroll down to see how it's done.) Fruits are hand-picked from local farms by me (as available), or purchased from local grocers.
